Mission-Driven Vertical

Mission-driven video for the orgs that earn it.

Brand films, recruitment, and fundraising videos for the organizations whose work cannot be sensationalized — and should not be ignored. Built by a team led by a former firefighter.

Years
Our founder served on the line before this

Most production companies have no business inside the work mission-driven organizations actually do. Our founder spent years on the line as a firefighter before building StoryChef. We understand what the work looks like, what it sounds like, and what is sacred about how it gets told.

We produce video for fire departments, EMS, search and rescue teams, conservancies, foundations, faith communities, social-impact nonprofits, and the 501(c)(3)s that fund them. Our work has appeared with Texas Search and Rescue, Pease Park Conservancy, Legacy International, and other mission-led organizations across Texas.

57%
of users who watch a nonprofit video go on to make a donation. Donors who watch a fundraising video are 48% more likely to give.

What we produce for mission-driven organizations.

Brand films that show your community what you actually do, beyond the headlines. Recruitment films designed to fill volunteer rosters and paid positions in categories where attrition is brutal. Fundraising and grant films for departments, foundations, and 501(c)(3)s. Annual gala films built around the donor close. Training and procedural video produced with respect for the operational realism the work demands. Public service campaigns that earn earned media instead of being skipped.

Sub-verticals we serve under this umbrella.

First responder organizations — fire, EMS, law enforcement, search and rescue. We understand chain of command, scene integrity, family notification protocols, and the difference between a usable B-roll moment and a line you do not cross. Conservation and parks — annual gala films, donor-close documentaries, environmental impact storytelling. Faith and community organizations — congregational films, capital campaign videos, mission-led brand work. Cause-driven brands and foundations — grant films, impact reports, social-impact campaigns. If your work matters, we know how to tell it without theatrics.

The outcome we build toward.

A film your team is proud to share. A recruitment piece that actually fills slots. A grant video that lands the funding. A public-facing story that strengthens the relationship between your organization and the community you serve. If you lead a mission-driven organization in Central Texas, start with a 15-minute call. We will listen first.

FAQ

Mission-driven video, answered.

01

Can a video actually move donations?

Per NPSource (2023), 57% of users who watch a nonprofit video go on to make a donation, and donors who watch a fundraising video are 48% more likely to give. The right film won't replace your donor-relations work — but it will make every donor conversation start farther down the line and give your board something concrete to point to when they ask what comms spend produced.

02

Do you work with grant-funded budgets?

Yes — most mission-driven engagements we take on are funded from capital campaigns, restricted donor gifts, or grant dollars rather than operating budget. We'll structure scope, deliverables, and reporting to fit how your funding source defines success. If you need help framing the production as a fundable line item, we'll work with you on that too.

03

How do you keep the work respectful, not sensational?

Our founder spent years on the line as a firefighter before building StoryChef. We don't sensationalize mission work, we don't romanticize it, and we don't shoot anything we wouldn't want to see if it were our own organization. We understand the difference between a usable moment and a line you do not cross — and we'll defer to your operational protocols on every shoot.

04

Can one film work for the gala, donor emails, AND recruitment?

Yes — and that's typically how we structure the build. One anchor narrative, paced for the gala or capital-campaign room, with modular cut-downs designed for donor email, recurring-giving campaigns, recruitment social, and grant-renewal reports. One shoot, multiple deployments. For small comms teams, this is the highest-leverage way to spend a video budget.

05

What's included in your 90-day ROI review?

Every project ships with a 90-day post-launch review. For mission-driven engagements we focus on the metrics your funders and board actually care about: donations moved, volunteer applications submitted, recurring-giving sign-ups, grant renewals supported, ballot or campaign outcomes influenced. Your scorecard, not ours.
