But you also know the reality: in a city this busy, a great mission isn't always enough. Good intentions get lost in the noise. Important messages go unheard.

We've selected our top three non-profits from the nominations we received. Voting opens Monday 1/12.
Meet The Finalists
Open My World
Open My World works to create meaningful, inclusive opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by focusing on life skills, community connection, and personal growth. The organization meets people where they are and helps them build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging through programs that prioritize dignity and real-world engagement. Nominations highlight the heart behind the work—families and participants see Open My World as a place where people are truly seen, supported, and encouraged to live fuller, more connected lives.


Recovery Outside
Recovery Outside uses outdoor experiences to support individuals in addiction recovery, pairing movement, nature, and community to help people rebuild their lives. By getting participants outside—hiking, paddling, and exploring together—the organization creates space for healing, accountability, and connection that traditional recovery settings don’t always provide. Those who nominated Recovery Outside spoke about its ability to restore confidence, purpose, and hope, especially for people who feel stuck or disconnected during recovery.
Louder Than Silence
Louder Than Silence supports survivors of sexual violence by providing resources, advocacy, and a safe space to reclaim their voice. The organization focuses on survivor-led healing, education, and community awareness, helping individuals move forward on their own terms while also working to reduce stigma and silence around sexual assault. Nominations emphasized the organization’s compassion, trust-building, and life-changing impact for people who often feel unheard, unseen, or isolated after trauma.

No, votes are final once submitted. Make sure you've learned about all three finalists before voting.
What if my organization doesn't win?
All exposure is good exposure! Being nominated or becoming a finalist often leads to new supporters, partnerships, and opportunities.
Do you work with nonprofits outside this campaign?
Yes! While we can only give away one $10K package, we offer professional video services for businesses and organizations of any size.
What does the non-profit receive?
We are providing a full strategic video campaign (valued at $10,000). This is an in-kind grant, meaning we invest our time, gear, and expertise directly into their mission. They'll get the same level of care we give our biggest commercial clients: Deep Dive Strategy: We find the story that matters most. Production: We film and edit a world-class narrative film. Assets: They get a finished video designed to drive real results.
Nominations may be submitted by the general public. Submitting a nomination does not guarantee publication, finalist status, or participation. StoryChef Media, LLC will review all submissions and select finalists at its discretion. Before any organization is listed as a finalist or included in public voting, StoryChef Media will confirm the organization’s interest and eligibility.
The selected nonprofit will receive in-kind video marketing consulting and video production services provided by StoryChef Media, LLC. The prize is non-transferable, may not be substituted for cash, and will require the nonprofit to sign standard agreements related to scheduling, filming, and usage rights.
StoryChef Media may modify or cancel the campaign, adjust timelines, or reject submissions that are incomplete, unverifiable, inappropriate, or inconsistent with the goals of the campaign. Information submitted through the nomination and voting process will be used solely to administer the campaign and will not be sold or shared outside of it.
